What this about the "NEW" Red Green Show?

In 1994 when production moved from YTV to Global, the show was revamped and badged "The
NEW Red Green Show". Many changes were made, some big, some small. The most noticable change
is the new introduction (done completely with computer effects) and jazzed-up theme song. Other
changes include new plaid shirts for Red and Harold, new powers for Harold's SFX machine, less
emphasis on the poems and campfire songs and a very enthusiastic studio audience who get to
join in on the Lodge meeting at the end of the show.

How many seasons have there been?

There have been 15 seasons of the show. Each season tends to be a little different; the highlights
of the differences are:

Season 1: Red and beige plaid shirts, red suspenders and only Red and Harold appear in the lodge.

Season 2: Red and beige plaid shirts, red suspenders and the whole crew (including Bill in
color) appear in the lodge.

Season 3: Red and beige plaid shirts, red and green suspenders and no lodge crew.

Season 4: "New" RGS, red and blue plaid shirts, show starts with Red's monologue: "It's not
smart, or correct, but it's one of the things that makes us what we are." Dalton, Mike and
Winston are introduced.

Season 5: "New" RGS, starting monologue dropped, replaced with a comparison between men
and women (such as "Women throw out their garbage. Men catch it.").

Season 6: "New" RGS, occasional shots of items fans have sent in and the "Possum 911" segment.

Season 7: "New" RGS, red and green (and black) plaid shirts. Show now produced by the CBC.

Season 8: Back to just the RGS. Harold goes off to college, but still plays a major role.

Season 9: Harold leaves the Lodge and gets a job, so there are many scenes of Red paying him
a visit. Bill also leaves the show, with Walter taking his place. Ranger Gord's cartoons are introduced.

Season 10: A larger emphasis is put on the quartet of Red, Winston, Dalton and Mike.
Harold shows up at the Lodge now and again for various segments.

Season 11: Harold plays a major role again after he is hired as Possum Lake's head of Public Relations.

Season 12: Red now sports a blue plaid shirt, similar to the one that annoyed Harold in Season 3.

Season 13: Bill returns to the show; Red sometimes wears a shirt very similar to the ones worn
in the first few seasons.

Season 14: Glen Brakston returns, Colin Mochrie makes a few guest appearances.

Season 15: In the final season, Harold is getting married and the Lodge members try to help out.
